The Fall Edit
Fall is one of our favorite times of the year here in Colorado. As the sun leans to the South and casts an amber glow on all it touches, foliage settles in for colder months ahead, and the air is diffused with the fragrance of crisp leaves, harvest, and bonfires.
In the world of interior design and decorating, we take advantage of all that Fall has to offer outside of popular decorating trends. We are drawn to styling interiors that capture and enhance the essence of how the season appeals to our senses. Design elements encompassed by the embrace of warm light, enhance new textures, vintage touches, and fall aromatics. And as the taste of Fall is gracefully rounded out with warm apple ciders, spritzers, savory appetizers and meals, we gather around the table with gratitude.
Step into the Fall season with us to get a sneak peak into some of our favorite meals, drinks, table-scape items, art and much more.
We have a running joke in our family about “table talk”. It can be anything…fun bantering, laughing, crying, discussing the meal or latest music added to our playlists. Some of you may have even been a guest and witness to this playfulness. Not only are the people around our table the people we love and cherish, but so is how we set the table for them - which ends up being a conversation all on its own.
To begin, we encourage using what you love and already have in your decor repertoire. Then, to take it a step further and combine it with something old and maybe even sentimental. Finally, go find that new seasonal item! And it’s ok to be eclectic or even a little whimsical.
While following the rules of scale and proportion you can set a beautiful and colorful table that pairs well yet doesn’t steal the show from your gourmet food items ;). Actually, feel free to let your food and serve wear steal the show if you are so inclined. Our whimsey find of the season was our little carved Road Runner bird friend. He was the center of conversation and paired seamlessly with florals, colorful plates and candles. Our obsession find recently was three gorgeous Wedgewood bone china salad plates painted with floral and bird designs and that set the color theme for the table. (we hope to find more!) These together became our table setting inspiration for this week's blog. We hope you enjoy and look forward to the Fall Season.
Cheers, ROSI.
